About

Rhys Williams, AIA, NCARB Principal and Founding Architect, Chroma Forma Studio

Rhys Williams is the Principal and Founding Architect of Chroma Forma Studio, where thoughtful, context-driven design meets hands-on craft. With 15 years of multidisciplinary experience across commercial, residential, hospitality, educational, construction, and fabrication work, he pairs a builder’s pragmatism with an architect’s vision—turning strong ideas into buildable, enduring places.

His work centers on human-focused environments that balance performance, durability, and beauty. A notable example is the Advocates Shelter, a multifamily residence supporting individuals seeking safety from domestic abuse. Honored as Special Use Project of the Year by the Northern Nevada Commercial Real Estate Awards (NAIOP), the project reflects Rhys’s commitment to community impact and compassionate design.

Collaboration is core to his process. Rhys engages clients, stakeholders, and builders early to align goals, streamline delivery, and elevate outcomes. His background in fabrication and construction drives a rigorous approach to detailing, materiality, and building systems—resulting in spaces that are both resilient and refined.

Rhys holds a five-year professional Bachelor of Architecture from the NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego and is a licensed architect affiliated with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

When he’s not in the studio, you’ll find Rhys out on the trail—mountain biking, running, and exploring new terrain. At Chroma Forma Studio, he leads with clarity, curiosity, and care, crafting places that serve people first.
